OUR MISSION
SPIRITUAL
The first letter in STARS. We believe God has a purpose for your life!
With this initiative, our goal is to help each individual grow in their relationship with Christ. God has a plan for each person's life. Each week we take time to pray, worship and discover that plan. When our young adults are part of a faith community they come to realize the unique individual God has created them to be.
TRAINING/
Educational Growth
The second letter in STARS. One Step at a Time!
We strive to find new strategies for dealing with the fact that most young adults with developmental disabilities are not comfortable interacting in the community where they live. Our team works with each person individually to learn daily living skills. We focus on functional reading and math skills, self-care, and communication.
ACTIVITIES
The third letter in STARS. Living life to the full!
At Emerging STARS, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts to get people off the couch and living life. From Halloween parties to field trips, we stay busy with a variety of creative activities. We are always striving to make a difference, by helping our young adults grow and reach their potential.
RECREATION
The fourth letter in STARS. Something for everyone!
With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in need to stay fit physically and mentally. Exercise is an important part of our day. We enjoy sports, swimming, and jogging. With access to the right people and encouragement, everyone can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential.
SOCIALIZATION
The last letter in STARS. This is what makes us different!
We see the value in relationships. The young adults we serve have the same desire for connection, and we strive to build productive relationships. We serve the community together, go to one another's birthday parties, and walk along side each other.
