EMERGING STARS AT A GLANCE
At Emerging STARS, we believe our young adults have the same dreams, desires, and ambitions as those without disabilities. They need a little more help to reach their goals and take their place in society. Emerging STARS has five components: Spirituality, Training, Activities, Recreation, and Socialization. Each day our young adults come together for different activities that incorporate these key areas. Our programs and activities are designed to be a catalyst that helps these young adults reach their goals and fulfill their potential.
JOURNEYING TOGETHER
"Our son Todd started Emerging Stars in May after graduating from the high school vocational program for students with disabilities. It has opened up a whole new world for him. He takes great pride in participating in the Emerging STARS program. Todd has made gains in his academic skills. He is now doing word search puzzles on his own and using several colors when drawing and coloring a picture. Socially he is thriving and loves talking about all his new friends. It is so rewarding to see him greet his friends and participate on his own in activities with them. He loves volunteering in the community with the group and especially working at the food bank. He loves attending bible study and takes great pride in bringing his bible on that day. Emerging Stars allows Todd the opportunity to continue to develop into a mature young man who contributes to his community."

Founded by Kathy Twigg after experiencing first-hand the need for activities for young adults with developmental disabilities, Emerging Stars is driven by a single goal: to recognize that each person has dignity. Emerging STARS helps these young adults take their place in the community where they live, while striving to build productive relationships and make a positive impact in everyone's life.
